“Major Watson acted knowing the risks to his career and his liberty,” said Christopher J. Mutimer, partner at Monument Legal and counsel for Major Watson. “It is my hope that other Americans who feel powerless in this moment will take some measure of courage from his willingness to speak and to stand by his convictions.”
If Major Watson had one message for everyone watching who is gravely concerned about the state of our democracy, it is this: you are not alone.
Maj. Watson is currently in solitary confinement, facing exceedingly rare and severe charges that could cost him years behind bars. Monument Legal is proud to defend him.

Monument Legal partner Christopher J. Mutimer is representing Air Force Major Jason P. Watson and appeared on CNN to discuss the case. Maj. Watson, a 17-year Air Force officer, was arrested on the Capitol steps after publicly calling for impeachment. He was taken into custody and is being held in a county jail ahead of a detention hearing. Mutimer spoke with him the afternoon of the interview and said he is doing well and wanted his family and friends to know he is okay. He expected this. Mutimer also relayed a message his client shared in a previous appearance. Maj. Watson knows many people are frightened and uncertain about what comes next, and he wanted them to know they are not alone.
